    Not to be mean, But instead of complaining on the Forums.Why bot call origin/EA and tell them what your issue is.
    Granted the wait time on the phone is freaking ridiculous but you sure will get alot more done then complaining about it until a solution happens to pop up.

    The only way I could call EA is on a mobile from Australia, I'm not paying for that. People have paid enough already buying a world that won't download.

    So, I have the same problem, and according to EA, it's because I have a MAC and my game isn't updated to the most recent patch. They took down the MAC patch because it had errors, but the guy said once the newest patch is posted (in the MAC forum), Aurora Skies should work. He said the update should be available in a few hours/by tomorrow.
    Of course, if you have another OS and your AS isn't working, I apologize for not being helpful.

    I don't have a mac and i'm not sure why not having the latest patch is a problem, since I've installed a lot of worlds without needing to be patched beyond 1.42.
    Those may be the problems for you though, I can't speak for mac users. Let us know if it helps.

    This one world took a little bit of extra fussing with to get it to download, meaning it took a few attempts and didn't happen on the first try.
    I did these things beforehand but it wasn't until I tried to download the world for the third time that it 'caught' and downloaded properly.
    Basically, what I did was -
    Update Origin today, even though I updated a couple days ago.
    Patched my game to 1.50.
    Downloaded Aurora Skies.
    Note that my driver and Java are up to date, along with my OS - Win7-64.

    EVERYONE EA FINALLY WAS ABLE TO PICK UP THE CALL AT TECH SUPPORT AND IT WAS SUCH AN EASY FIX! I HAVE TRIED THIS WITH OTHER THINGS IN THE PAST BUT SOMEHOW MISSED THE EASIEST THING! I ASKED THEM TO EMAIL ME WORD FOR WORD WHAT THEY JUST HAD ME DO SO THAT I COULD SHARE WITH ALL OF YOU. THIS WORKED FOR ME, TRY IT. OFF TO AURORA SKIES I GO! THANKS TO CEEJAY402 FOR ALL THE TIPS. SPREAD THE WORD TO ALL TO TRY THIS ONE AURORA SKIES HERE I COME
    Email that EA tech support sent me so that I could share the fix:
    What we did was clear the Sims Cache files. These are temporary files that are created upon on that of your game. They will be recreated once you reenter your game. What we find is that the temporary files build and build until they overflow and can cause issues like the one you ran into. These files can all be removed safely without causing any changes to your game.
    Start -> Documents -> Electronic Arts -> The Sims 3 -> Delete the following items: CompositorCache.Package, simCompositorCache.Package, CASPartCahe.Package, script.Cache.Package.
    Then go into your Thumbnails folder and delete the entire contents of the folder, but do not delete the folder itself.
    After that go back to the Sims 3 folder, and head into the WorldCaches folder. Delete the contents of this folder as well, again leaving the folder itself remaining.
    After these are deleted, go ahead and empty out the recycling bin, then test out download.

    found my way out of the problem! launch the game and when the main menu come up, click on the button with the three dots (..) on the bottom left corner of the box. a list of options comes up, and click on 'open downloads dashboard'. there you will find your game and under the 'status' column, click 'install now'

    I did the live chat for EA troubleshooting and they couldn't give me an answer except to call their superior I.T. people at EA. Phone # (866) 543-5435. Hopefully this works. You can only call Monday - Saturday 10am-10pm so I'll be calling tomorrow. :-/

    Is anyone else having a problem with Aurora Skies? I bought it on the Sims Store download Gold version but not when it downloads it says it is an object instead of a world. Does anyone know a way I could fix this because I really want to play with it? I also got all of the toddler stuffs and tried to download it separately but it will not display anywhere in the game. I am majorly sad. Please help!

    Hello I dunno if this has already been answered but I have the gold edition and I am having trouble finding the wallpapers, can anyone help?

    I believe the wallpapers are in the miscellaneous tab instead of wallpaper. Look for the vines one. It's a bright turquoise. The other ones are all right there with it.

    Hi a have routing problem at Lupin Lane 43. Sim got stuck. Have hardly play´d with Aurora Skies yet. But so far a like the town. (without routing issue) :!:
    I clean´d my WorldCashes and now it works.

    Just looking at the world makes me not wanna buy it, there is only box-houses and i think the whole world looks weird, Aurora Skies could never messure with Monte Vista or Sunlit Tides. I think it looks really boring, i would rather play in Riverview

    I got Aurora Skies and so far I'm really disappointed. Everything is so dark and dreary. It's been cloudy the entire time and day and night both look like dusk. It says colorful night sky but so far all I see is grey. I can't even tell day from night in this world unless I look at the clock. The hot air balloon was disappointing too. I expectd to float to my destination not instantly appear there. Talk about cutting corners. Ugh, I'm so disgusted with myself for wasting money on this one. :x

    Have a look at some pictures of my festival grounds in Aurora Skies. The sky ISN'T 'dark and dreary' at all ! It's always different ! LOOK:

    Oh, by the way, I don't know if anybody else experienced this problem, but the waterfalls don't work i.e. water does not fall despite being described as a WATERFALL in advertising. ..

    After seeing many pictures and videos of this world, have to say I love it. The waterfalls are a gorgeous addition, but the PC items really sold me. The HAB looks really nice, but it was those toddler items that got me interested because I love baby stuff.
    Also, although some people feel the houses are too bland and 'box-like', I think they look really nice and ideally big for those like me who create big families.

    A shame. Because while I Love Sims 3's mechanics and editing capabilities, I am loathe to drop 5 K on a computer that can play it well, on top of having to pay for all these expansions every few months..
    Can't any of this go to XBox Live and be DLable content expansions for the Sims 3 game there? I know my Xbox can handle the graphics..

    The graphics in TS3 are SOOO incredibly stunning (I don't play any other video games, so I wouldn't doubt that there are vid games out there with way better graphics than TS3). But I love them! I always want to be able to sit in front of my computer and soak in all of the textures and sims gestures and expressions and the designs of the worlds-the houses and the neighbors too. But I just don't feel like I fully absorb everything through my laptop computer screen..it's too small and I have to spend too much time taking care of my sims needs to keep them alive and progressing in the game and so I'm never able to just relax and take in the beauty of the graphics.
    I don't want to have to buy an expensive computer or other technology to be able to play the game. I mean even if it was an absolute MUST, EA should put a disclaimer about that informing any new players RIGHT OFF THE BAT that you have to have a super computer to play. But how fair is it that the only people who can play this game have to be able to afford expensive equipment? It's true, most computers just can't handle the stunning graphics of TS3. I wish they could alter that so that we could get the max. graphics settings, and have a completely playable game w/ few crashes/problems.
    Question: Has anyone ever wondered what it would be like to play TS3 in 1st person mode?
    Where this question is stemming from is I have a sim who is an architect and every time I take a picture with their phone camera I get pretty excited about being able to see the surroundings from 1st person view. It makes the game much more personal for me. I think they should make 1st person view a feature in TS3! I always hate the fact that in the game, I can't see the ceilings and don't know what any of my built rooms look like from a sim point of view vs. the player point of view.
    ALSO: on a different note: does anyone know anything about the Eco-friendliness or 'science focus' of Aurora Skies? I was contemplating getting it for those reasons as I would really like to play in an eco-friendly or green technology kind of world. I'm getting this from the background of the world listed in the Sims Store.

    For the two previous posters:
    I don't think it is the graphics card, sound card or CPU you have to worry about. The problem is that this game is a resource hog (ie, Virtual Memory or RAM). Since the standard 32bit OS (Operating System, or Windows 7) only allows access to 3.5Gb of memory, many Simmers have needed to upgrade to the 64bit version, which allows unlimited RAM to be installed on the memory slots.

    ? Idk if it is just myself but when I play this world it is extremely dark..at like 5pm it goes pitch black and if theres not a light i cant see anything. and its like this until about 8am or so..is it just the world? and if it is, is there a way you can change this? because on an ad i saw it say 'PLAY WITH LIGHTS' on aurroa skies
    edit: and how do i make a pool have the steam come from it? only the mud rock thing near the pool has that and i want to have more

    2. - Nothing special about the skies unless you count greenish flowing clouds.
    3. -Looks like my 4 year old grandson got his crayons out and colored the buildings and roofs.
    4. -My grandson must have also colored the terrain. It's bad and does not blend.
    5. -Ugly box shaped homes. I'm disappointed in you EA. You can do way better than this.

    well i pretty much agree with this post^^^^^ there is not many small houses and that is all i can ever play on, is smaller houses or else my game freezes constantly.
    and the terrain is not very beautiful since my world is so dark all the time it makes the terrain look like mud everyhwere

    Hey Guys I really need your help. So I bought the Sims Aurora Skies with my simpoints and It wont download to my launcher it keeps appearing as an object. And does not even download even slightly. I really want to play this world especially after paying money for it please help im going out of my mind here..

    If you currently have it on your launcher-as an object-, just click on it and download as you normally would with any other stuff you've bought/cas/ext..
    mine appears as an object as well but I dont have any problems downloading

    Does anyone know where the alchemy shop is located in Aurora Skies? I cannot find it and cannot build it (which is usually a sign that it's already there). Am I blind or am I missing something?

    Moved sim into aurora skies. Sim is level 5 in military. Tried to send to work cannot or will not go. Can only tour the base

    does anyone know that if you make a world of your own and use aurora skies as a template will the skies change as usual?
    i know thats abit of a strange question it's just i want a world that has changing skies likes aurora skies and then loads of dragons everywhere like a skyrim type world lol but i want to make it from scratch and it might take abit long to delete everything in the actual aurora skies world sorry if i sound abit confusing lol

    I get this error for most of the Opportunities. This is the first additional world I've bought and very disappointed. I'm interested in Dragon Valley but don't want to waste my money if half of it doesn't work like Aurora Skies!

    Well, on origin it would cost the same as redeeming the simpoints.
    But I'm 99.9% sure it won't be on Origin since it wasn't released on disc and was store only. Sorry You can always pay close attention to Daily Deals and the Sales to see a price drop.
